Pastor Terry has served as Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel Rialto since 1990. As well as being a dedicated teacher for our Body, he serves as Chaplain and Reserve Police Officer for the Rialto Police Department.

After 24 years of marriage his wife, Ronda, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 28, 2003.

On February 2, 2006 Pastor Terry married Debbie Smith who attended Harvest Christian Fellowship for 26 years. Debbie was involved in various ministries such as Women’s Ministry, Singles, Harvest Crusades, missions, and food service for special functions. The Lord has used all of these opportunities to prepare Debbie for her new role, to support and serve as “The First Lady of The Congregation.”

Debbie’s daughter Megan, born March 1985, graduated from California State University of San Bernardino in June 2006 with her BA in Marketing and has recently moved to Nashville to use her skills in the recording industry.

Terry was born March 18, 1956 in San Bernardino, California and has three brothers and two sisters. Terry attended elementary through high school in Rialto, California and graduated from Eisenhower High in 1975. He moved to Odessa, Texas in 1975 and remained in Texas for six months. It was during this time that he received the Lord Jesus as his Savior. He returned to his hometown of Rialto, California in that same year and began attending San Bernardino Bible College. He studied two and a half years and took on the occupation of a cabinetmaker for the next eleven years.

Terry attended Inland Christian Center from 1976 to 1981 and from 1981 to 1985 he attended Calvary Chapel of Redlands under Pastor Don McClure. In September 1985, he came on staff at Calvary Chapel Rialto under Pastor Gillett Doggett. He was ordained in April 1987 and continued in the position of Associate Pastor until June 1990, when he became Senior Pastor.

He became a police chaplain for Rialto Police Department in 1994 and later became a reserve police officer in 1999. Terry often says, “On Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays, I bring people to Christ; but on Thursdays, I bring people to West Valley Detention Center.”

In the past ten years he has taught numerous courses through Calvary Chapel Bible College in Twin Peaks and Murrieta.
Pastor Terry is currently teaching services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. The new sanctuary was completed on March 2, 2005 and later, in November of the same year, the new Youth Center was completed.

His son, Daniel, born in January 1982, was married to Sarah on July 30, 2006. Daniel came on staff at Calvary Chapel Rialto in January 2007. He was ordained August 2007 and leads worship and serves as one of our Assistant Pastors. His daughter, Kristina, was born in August 1983 and is employed with an escrow company in Riverside, California.
